SOCIO-ECONOMIC IMPACTS

KEY LEARNING

Finally, going over the socio-economic impacts of digital technologies and entrepreneurship widened my opinions beyond personal success. For years I’ve deemed entrepreneurship as mainly an avenue for profit. I now realise its societal association, including job creation, inequality and economic growth (World Bank, 2016). This has really stimulated my critical thinking especially about the ethical responsibilities entrepreneurs carry, specifically acknowledging issues such as the digital divide.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

My understanding for the socio economic impacts on digital technologies and entrepreneurship has developed, however it is the least bit practical. While aware of major issues such ethical responsibility and inequality, I am yet to further explore how to merge these discussions into business practices. This is a subject I intend to explore further.

APPLICATION OF LEARNING

Using my hypothetical digital jewellery business to consider the effects of socio economic impacts, I would opt in to use ethically sourced materials and constantly advocate for sustainability. This considers my developing awareness of the imperativeness of responsible entrepreneurship (World Bank, 2016). Going further, I would make sure my business practices and methods are inclusive for example, offering a wide range plus flexible digital access to my products and services, ensuring customer needs are met.

My future goals and continuous learning
